YEAR OF THE ROOSTER
Firstly check this site out....:
http://chinese.astrology.com/signs.html
well i was born in the Year of the ROOSTER
so here r the details of my kinda people:
The Rooster is the strutting peacock of the Chinese Zodiac! These quick thinkers are practical and resourceful, preferring to stick to what is tried and true rather than taking messy, unnecessary risks. Roosters are keenly observant. It's hard to slip anything past a Rooster, since they seem to have eyes in the backs of their heads! This quality can lead others to think the Rooster is psychic, but that's not generally the case; instead, this Sign enjoys a keen attention to detail that makes it a whiz at anything requiring close analysis. Roosters make great lawyers, brain surgeons and accountants, to name a few of this Sign's possible occupations. Above all else, the Rooster is very straightforward and rewards others' honesty in kind.
Roosters aren't shifty or cagey and have no interest in hiding behind a facade. They are the proverbial open book, telling the truth and keeping their word. If you show your hand, the Rooster will respect you for it. This kind of trusting behavior can tempt tricksters to pull a fast one on the Rooster, but that would be a bad move! Remember, this Sign doesn't indulge in flights of fancy and keeps those eyes wide open at all times.
Roosters tend to be perfectionists and expect to be in control, especially over their appearance. Primping and posing for the Rooster can go on forever! Being noticed and admired is an aphrodisiac for Roosters, and they can go a long time on a few kind words. Roosters also adore being out on the town, especially if they're in the company of adoring friends. The Rooster will also be the best-dressed one of the bunch -- style counts with this Sign, regardless of the cost.
Roosters also expect to be in control of their surroundings, including whoever happens to be in those surroundings. Roosters keep an impeccably neat house and expect their lovers, housemates and family members to maintain the same high standards of dress and conduct as they do. This can cause problems with other, more relaxed types who just want to be accepted as is. The Rooster needs the right partner, one who understands this Sign's basically conservative nature. With the right person, the Rooster can be the most loyal, trusting and supportive mate around, one who bends over backward to please its loved ones. Some Signs may just end up feeling hen-pecked, however.
Roosters need to learn to value their heart and soul as much as their good looks. Their excellent people skills and sharp minds are qualities that others will appreciate as much as a pretty face. This Sign would also do well to learn to adopt the philosophy of "live and let live"; perhaps an appeal to the Rooster's logic -- that it's inefficient to waste time nagging others -- will help this Sign learn to let others be whomever and however they are.
The most compatible match for a Rooster is the Ox or the Snake.

Also from http://www.usbridalguide.com/special/chinesehoroscopes/Rooster.htm:
CAPRICORN ROOSTER
Determined and destined for success, the Capricorn Rooster wants nothing more than to succeed. He is practical and responsible...if you want the job done, this is your man! On the darker side, this motivation to succeed isn't without cause. This Rooster wants to be in charge.
Popular Roosters:
Michelle Pfeiffer, Bette Midler, Eric Clapton, Melanie Griffith, Alex Haley, Donny Osmond, Katharine Hepburn, Goldie Hawn, Larry King, Benjamin Franklin, Steve Martin, Carol Burnett, LeVar Burton, Joan Rivers, Diane Keaton, Priscilla Presley, Elton John, Joan Collins, Neil Young, Yoko Ono, Van Morrison, Dolly Parton, Katherine Hepburn, George Segal, Errol Flynn, Gloria Estefan, Groucho Marx, Rudyard Kipling, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Britney Spears, Catherine Zeta-Jones

Another description:
People born in the Year of the Rooster are deep thinkers, capable, and talented. They like to be busy and are devoted beyond their capabilities and are deeply disappointed if they fail. People born in the Rooster Year are often a bit eccentric, and often have rather difficult relationship with others. They always think they are right and usually are! They frequently are loners and though they give the outward impression of being adventurous, they are timid. Rooster people’s emotions like their fortunes, swing very high to very low. They can be selfish and too outspoken, but are always interesting and can be extremely brave. They are most compatible with Ox, Snake, and Dragon.
You are a hard-worker.
You speak your mind.
You can be boastful.
You will make a good restaurant owner, publicist or world traveler.

Ah!!! WHAT A POLITICAL DRAMA
Its the Indian premier's seat....made to feel as if its up on sale....up for grabs.....
Well Rahul Gandhi claims that after elsection results when he asked his mom dat does she wanna
be the PM.....she had den declined to him that she aint intersted in the seat.....
but voila....she got all the letters of support in her name.....
she was all set to be the PM of INDIA.....
well dat too when....in Italy, Italians themselves won't select
foreign born as their premier.....
well y shud we also select a foreign born as our PM.....
this may look like hard line from my side towards this issue of foreign born funda....
but then......when congress has better people than Sonia Gandhi for that post
then why should she become the PM......
If congress cannot select anyone else....let it go for another election......
it is a matter of pride for all of us to have an Indian born as our PM.....
Well Sonia gandhi is one who can be easily used by congress allies for their self purpose...
well now when Sonia stepped down......every1 knew.....dat we r gonna get a able leader
and Sonia stepping down was celebrated in stock exchange with a sharp rise........
now when Manmohan Singh is going to be the PM......there is confusion for who will be
the Finance Minister.....
just take a look....at what all allies of Congress want.....
they want more and more for minorities.....
they want more n more subsidies....
everyone wants more and more for themselves in name of their state
well the stand taken by few BJP leaders regarding Sonia being PM
that is boycotting of the swearin in ceremony if she becomes PM......was a gud step.....
They showed wat they felt regardin her foreign born issue.....
though no1 will have prob with her children holding ne post.
well...now we have a leader who has adequate experience in this field and will do his job well...
BUT again here there will be some control exercised by Left parties...wich can be a
hindrance to our growth..........
Now hope for the best

THE GREAT CONGRESS NEEDS CRASH COURSE ON WTO
Well.....wat is happenin in Andhra....
r we goin back on reforms path to wich we set
on by the NDA.....it seems so....
NDA was tryin its level best to make INDIA....WTO compatible.....
one of the components in WTO says that no agricultural subsidy.....
wich includes no free electricity....
dis is wat has happened in Andhra Pradesh....
dis will obviosly spread to other states....since all need to treated at par...
all will demand free electricity...government cannot say NO.....(will lose
elections next time)....so where does dis lead us....
well it leads our agricultural exports to go thru a tax in international market
to compensate for this subsidy and thus the low price of the agricultural
produce....
This does nothin but increases the rate of our products higher that those
from China, Brazil and similar countries....
this means reduction in exports.........
thus we r gonna face big problems....
if congress keeps such ways....
stock market crash is indicative of things to come......
just imaginin the people like Laloo, Mulayam and Leftists holding posts
what will happen......
congress manifestoes says.....reservation in private sector to be debated......
with leftists gettin a huge share......private sector will also den be
incorporated into the quota system.....and people will just hope why did we
vote for the wrong party.....
i am just hopin.....Manmohan Singh comes out with some kind of policy wich is close to what NDA was followin and follows NDA's path
of disinvestment/divestment/privatisation....
Manmohan is the only hope....
also now Italian pizzas will be sellin in every mohalla.....
bofors guns will be back into reckonin.....
hopin some Italian models also enter our country;-)
chalo,
dats all for now......

DEEP PURPLE - THE STORY
The Montreux Jazz Festival, Royal Albert Hall, Melbourne Entertainment Centre, a Blizzard somewhere in the Alps, Tokyo, Rio, Moscow's Olympic Hall, Cape Town, Bangalore, La Paz, Toronto and Kansas City.
What do they have in common? They are just a few of the places where you could have seen a Deep Purple show over the last couple of years. Simply reading the itineraries gives you an idea of how this band operates on a truly international level.
Deep Purple is not a conformist group. There never was, nor ever will be, any fawning to trends. What you do get from them are cutting edge performances based on a sound philosophy: "the music comes first". That music comes from within the core spirit of the band, nowhere else. They won't be bagged. Why?
In the sixties and early seventies they were described (by others) as "Progressive" or "Underground", when they made a conscious decision to depart from the "Hush" era in order to record the seminal album "Deep Purple in Rock".
"Fireball", "Machine Head", "Made in Japan" and "Who Do We Think We Are" quickly followed, and they were then tagged (along with Zeppelin and Sabbath) as leaders of the "Hard Rock" explosion. At this point began the gradual disintegration of the famous MK 2 line-up, (Blackmore, Gillan, Glover, Lord, Paice) and some long overdue individual R & R.
The eighties re-union as "Perfect Strangers" shook the world (again) with a fresh look at the music but with a bold detachment that stated "this is Deep Purple". The era was to end in disharmony, however (again), with first Gillan leaving, then Blackmore and then Gillan returning; confusing? Not really.
After the divorce, and seeing this as a genuine opportunity to get back to the music, the guys invited Joe Satriani join as locum, and he spent the best part of a year on the road with the newly revitalised band before returning to his own commitments. The scene was now set for the most important line-up change since "69.
Steve Morse was the only name on the list, and the question he asked, (after a couple of out of town gigs had confirmed the chemistry) "Is there a dress code?" paved the way for a return to the humourous disdain the band have for what they used to call "poseurs".
They never set out to be "Rock Stars". Call them "Classic" and they will laugh and patiently explain that nostalgia is not a creative word. Sure they've been through the mill a few times. However each time they've emerged stronger, and now you see a band that is hard and professional; displaying texture, dynamics and a humanity that can only come from those rare artists who are masters of their craft.
Deep Purple's music has evolved organically into an expressive maturity, and the sell-out shows at the cities mentioned above are testament enough to the massive fan commitment. There's a lot of affection out there for what many say is the greatest of them all.
Over 100 million albums sold.

It is now the election time, a time when political parties come under our close observation. All these political parties fighting for our votes resemble in several respects different brands fighting for consumer’s attention. Major political parties are as much mass market brands as brands manufactured by different companies. Like in the market place all the ‘national political brands’ have strong competition from several ‘regional brands’. Most of the political parties use marketing techniques like market segmentation, targeted marketing, positioning, repositioning etc more diligently than even the most astute marketers in India.
Most of the political parties know that their success in any elections is all about effective communication. Right from the main ideology of the party to the latest ideology to the main leader’s image to the local candidate’s caste, there are several factors that influence the outcome of an election. Apart from having to communicate all these factors, these messages have to reach out to almost every one in the country right from the SEC A+ to SEC E.
Having closely observed several cadre based political parties for long, I have noticed that they are not major users of mass communication. But there is a continuous communication from the party to their workers even at normal times. The key focus of these political parties is to create a strong ‘lasting impact’ with their communication in the common man’s mind.
But what have fascinated me about the communication strategies of the political parties are not the content of their communication but the mediums they use for their communication. These political parties have over the years created extremely robust systems in every village and town in this country. This helps them communicate with the common man on a regular basis. More so, with an impact that rivals any other communication system.
The first stage of building this communication system in a village is to create the ‘party loyalists’ in each village. Care is taken to make sure that the ‘party loyalists’ are respected persons in that society and come from different walks of life.
Much before term ‘permission marketing’ was invented, the Indian political parties had been putting it into practice in the Indian villages while building their grass root structure. The local party loyalists are taught to get involved in all the major activities in the village. So be it a marriage or building a road in the village, these workers will be at the forefront. So these party workers are at first a social worker in his locality and then a politician.
These party loyalists are advised to create opportunities that would enable them to have close interactions with the people in the locality.
In Kerala a prominent cadre based party set up reading rooms across all most all villages in Kerala. The youth of these villages came to these reading rooms in the evenings to read the newspapers. These reading rooms became a meeting place for the youth of the village. I know a political party that had advised their core members to penetrate all the arts and sports clubs in the villages. The party set up such clubs in villages that had no such clubs.
So the primary focus of these political parties is on developing institutions that help have more social interactions with the common man in the village. These social interactions help develop the ‘social capital’ for the political party in the village. Care is taken to find more opportunities that will help develop more ‘social capital’ in the village. This is a continuous process. Higher the social capital of the party in the village, higher is the ‘permission’ given by the village people for the acceptance of different messages from the party.
American democracy might have been built using 30sec commercials and mass media advertisements but Indian democracy has been built by the ‘social capital’ developed by the grass root party workers in every nook and corner of this country.
While the Indian political parties had realized the importance of grass root workers decades back, not many Indian marketers have realized its importance until recently. LIC, which has built a huge agent network across the country, might be a welcome aberration to this trend. But many of the Indian marketers like HLL and ITC are trying to make up for the lost time and are putting up huge efforts to build a strong grass root level structure. Many marketers have changed the structure of their marketing department so as to put specific people in charge of market activation- reaching out to the consumer at a personal level.
All the major political parties have grass root level workers in all the villages in India. Days are not far when every village will have HLL ‘party workers’, or LG ‘party workers’ in as much as every village has a BJP party workers, Congress party workers.
That will be the dawn of a new revolution in marketing communication. But it needs some revolutionary thinking from all concerned to make this a reality. More on this later…

In my last article I had discussed about the successful attempts made by Indian political parties to build extremely efficient grass root level party structures. At the same time I have been reading newspaper reports about several major FMCG majors wanting to introduce a new system in the villages where a sales person will sell products directly to the consumers. Just a piece of advice to these FMCG majors, learn a few tricks of direct selling from the Indian political parties before venturing into a new system.
The grass root political worker is first a leader in his society and then a political worker. It is also true that the worker needs to play both these roles effectively to be a success. The party’s local level functionary tag helps him to walk into the local Panchayat office or into the police station to ‘sort out’ some of the problems of the common man. This show of power is the reason why many of the local people look up to him as a leader in the society. And these little favours by the local political leader tie the common man by a ‘web of indebtedness’ to the political party. It becomes difficult for a person to refuse voting for the political leader who has helped him ‘move’ a loan application in the local co operative bank.
Every political party realizes that the ability of their grass root workers to ‘sort out’ these local problems is of paramount importance to the very existence of the party at the grass root level. So political parties ensure that their grass root workers are ‘empowered’ to play the tag of the local leader well. The ‘empowering’ of the grass root workers is very evident among the cadre based political parties where even the national committee of the party cannot overrule the decision made by the local committee.
How do the political parties make sure that the empowered grass root workers do not deviate from the core policies of the party? The answer lies in the effective communication strategies adopted by these political parties. The grass root level workers have regular ‘study classes’ organized by the party and the district level leaders are personally in charge of the training. Every issue regarding the party, each problem faced by the party and all strategies at the local level are discussed in these ‘study classes’. Arguments are allowed and encouraged in these meetings but once a decision is taken in the meeting, all the party workers have to adhere to the decision.
The efficiency of this communication system is clearly evident during a crisis in the party. For example, suppose one of the top leaders is caught in a bribe scandal. On the day of the controversy, most of the grass root workers will be clueless about the appropriate response to the controversy. But surprisingly within a few days, they suddenly have strong point of views on the same. What happens during this drastic change from utter silence to totally confident views? The party’s communication machinery makes sure that the national leaders along with their state leaders are in touch with the district leaders, who in turn get in touch with the grass root workers. Thus ensuring that everybody in the chain are aware of the ‘party line’ on the controversy.
Taking a cue from the political parties, organizations that are planning to build grass root level workers should focus on creating local level social leaders and not local level sales persons. The primary focus of these organizations should be to focus on building some sort of ‘power’ for these grass root workers of the company that makes the common man look up to them. For example, HLL should make sure that their grass root level workers are ‘experts’ in basic level health services. Thus every one in the village will look up to them for all the small health problems. The strong identity of a ‘health worker’ will lend a lot of credibility when the same person sells germ killing soaps and toothpastes.
The job is easier if such local experts already exist in the village. Let’s say a home appliance company wants to build such grass root structure and realizes that there already exist local ‘experts’ whom the local people consult when they have a problem with their home appliances. They only have to recruit these local experts and convert them into loyal grass root workers for the company.
Further learnings from the political parties are that the organizations that build grass root level sales systems should also focus on build a system that ensures continuous and free-flowing communication between the headquarters and the grass root level. I believe that although LIC has managed to create an extremely strong network of agents across the length and breadth of the country, LIC has not managed to extract full advantage of its agent network due to its poor communication between its agents and the headquarters.
So next time you need expert advice on building an effective grass root level structure for your organisation, do consult the Indian politician.

if there is a class at 3:45.....

else.......assignments, projects are being done..........
at 5pm SNACK time..........again cuppa tea........and snacks........
there mite be a class at 6pm till 7:30 and sometimes from 7:45 till 9:15 pm....
if these classes r not there....project work or assignments or presenations bein done or made...............
9 pm is the dinner time..............students can be seen havin dinner in mess or at X Cafe...........
watever suits the person............

for me.......gamin session of Age of Empires starts around 10:30 or 11 PM.......
sometimes a movie mite start around 12am..........wich is seen in grup..........
people generally go off to sleep by 1am.....or mayb 3.......
and on some occasions no sleep...............
well the day repeats itself again and again..........
sundays r almost free until unless there is some rescheduled class.......
dats the day......wen we all catch up on the sleep........
and also wrap up ne othe personal stuff we wanna do.......
